University of Oxford is a research based university located in Oxford, Britain. There is no any fixed date of its foundation as there is an evidence of teaching that has been started as back as 1096 and thus University of Oxford is one of the oldest universities in the world and the second oldest surviving college.

Oxford University is the English-speaking unique and historic institution. The University of Oxford grew speedily from 1167 when Henry II banned English students from attending the French university, University of Paris. The dispute between students and the locals of Oxford led to creation of University of Cambridge.
